I mean, Waiheke isn’t huge, but when you’ve been wine tasting all day in the sun, you don’t want to trek across the island just to crash. The motel sits on this quiet residential street – you’ll hear the occasional car, maybe some birds in the morning, but none of that ferry terminal hustle that can drive you crazy if you’re trying to sleep in.

What I liked about staying here was how straightforward everything felt. The rooms are clean and functional – think standard motel setup but well-maintained, not like some places where you’re afraid to look too closely at the corners. I spent my money on that amazing dinner at Mudbrick instead, which felt like the right choice. If you’re the type who just needs a good night’s sleep between beach days and vineyard visits, this place does the job well – and the 7.5 rating honestly feels about right for what it is.
