The location in Wailea is absolutely perfect – you’re right on one of Maui’s most gorgeous beaches, but you’re also walking distance to the Shops at Wailea when you need a break from all that relaxation. I love that you can stroll down to the Grand Wailea next door if you want to explore their ridiculous pool complex, or head the other way toward the Four Seasons. The hotel restaurant situation here is solid too – Humble Market Kitchin does this amazing poke bowl that I’m still thinking about months later. Each room feels spacious and airy, with those signature Marriott touches but elevated for the tropical setting. The lanais are generous (get an ocean view if you can swing it), and honestly, the sound of the waves is better than any white noise machine.

Now, I’ll be real with you – this is Wailea, so parking and everything else comes with resort fees that’ll make your wallet lighter. The pools can get pretty busy during peak season (we’re talking January through March), especially the main infinity pool that everyone wants to Instagram. But here’s the thing – if you venture down to the beach early morning or around sunset, it’s absolutely magical. The snorkeling right off the beach is decent, though you’ll want to drive up to Molokini Crater or down to Ahihi-Kinau for the really spectacular stuff. The resort sits perfectly positioned between the buzz of Kihei (about 15 minutes north) and the quieter luxury of the Grand Wailea area. Pro tip: the spa here is worth every penny, especially if you book treatments in the late afternoon when the light gets all golden and dreamy. The staff genuinely seems to love working here, which makes such a difference in the whole vibe. Sure, it’s pricey, but when you’re watching the sunset from your lanai with a mai tai in hand, listening to the gentle crash of waves below – well, it’s hard to argue with that kind of perfection.
