I mean, you’re still close enough to Madikeri town (maybe 15 minutes by auto) but far enough that you’re not dealing with the usual tourist chaos around the main market area.

The property itself is honestly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place in this part of Karnataka – nothing fancy, but they’ve got the basics covered and then some. The rooms are clean, the staff actually remembers your name after day one, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be more than it is. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you can actually hear the birds in the morning instead of traffic, which is rare even in smaller hill stations these days. The gardens are well-maintained too, with those massive jackfruit trees that seem to be everywhere in Coorg, and during monsoon season (which, let’s be honest, is when this place really shines), the whole property smells like wet earth and coffee blossoms.

Now, I’ll be straight with you – that 6.9 rating probably reflects some of the little things that could be better. The Wi-Fi can be spotty, especially when it’s raining hard, and the hot water situation is… well, let’s just say don’t expect a power shower. But here’s the thing about staying in this part of Coorg – you’re not really here for the hotel amenities anyway. You’re here because you want to wake up to misty mornings, maybe visit some of the nearby coffee estates (there are at least three within walking distance), or use it as a base for exploring places like Abbey Falls or Talakaveri without dealing with the crowds staying right in Madikeri center. The hotel’s location actually works in your favor if you’re planning day trips – you can easily head toward Virajpet or even make it to Nagarhole if you start early. Plus, the staff knows the area well enough to give you actual useful directions, not just the standard tourist circuit recommendations. It’s the kind of place where you end up having longer conversations with other travelers over breakfast, probably because everyone’s in that relaxed Coorg state of mind.
