Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of fancy places around Lake Tahoe, but Edgewood honestly feels different from the moment you pull up that winding driveway off Lake Parkway. You know how some luxury resorts try too hard? This one doesn’t need to – it’s got that understated confidence that comes from sitting on some of the most primo lakefront real estate on the Nevada side.
The thing about Edgewood is the location is just ridiculous (in the best way). You’re literally steps from the lake, and I mean the good part of the lake where the water stays that impossible blue-green color even when it’s crowded elsewhere. The resort sits right where all the South Shore action happens, but somehow feels removed from the casino chaos that’s literally just down the road at the Stateline casinos. Actually, that’s kind of perfect – you can walk to Harrah’s or Harvey’s if you want that scene, but retreat back to this peaceful bubble whenever you need to decompress. The golf course here is legendary, and watching people tee off with the lake as a backdrop never gets old, even if you’re not playing.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to make a 5-star place feel approachable. The staff knows their stuff without being stuffy about it, and the rooms – well, let’s just say waking up to unobstructed lake views hits different when you’re this close to the water. I stayed during shoulder season in late September, which I’d honestly recommend if you can swing it. Way fewer crowds, the weather’s still gorgeous, and you can actually get dinner reservations without planning weeks ahead. The spa situation is solid too, though I’ll warn you it books up fast during peak summer and ski season. One small thing – parking can get a bit tight during events (they host a lot of weddings), but the valet team handles it smoothly. The whole place just works in that effortless way that only happens when someone’s really thought through every detail. If you’re doing Tahoe and want to feel like you’re somewhere special without the pretense, this is your spot.

They upgraded us to a lake view room. It was amazing. Beautifully designed hotel, lovely artwork and friendly staff. Bedroom was very large and super comfy beds. We had a fireplace and large bath. Food at Brooks Bar was amazing and we loved the whole ambience of the entire hotel. Good location on edge of the main area in south lake tahoe.
