Getting to Island 1 involves a short boat ride from the mainland, which is actually pretty cool – though I’d recommend confirming boat schedules ahead of time since they don’t run constantly.
What struck me most was how quiet it gets here, especially in the evenings. I mean, you’re literally surrounded by water with the nearest road noise miles away across the lake. The resort itself feels more intimate than most 5-star places – it’s not one of those massive complexes where you need a map to find your room. The staff genuinely seems to know every guest by name within a day or two, which creates this unexpectedly personal vibe. The rooms are spacious with those floor-to-ceiling windows facing the lake, and honestly, waking up to that view never got old during my stay. Fair warning though – the WiFi can be spotty (comes with the territory when you’re on an island), so don’t plan on streaming movies or handling serious work calls.
The food situation is better than I expected for such a remote location. They’ve got this outdoor dining area where you can eat right by the water, and their dal baati churma is legitimately good – not just tourist-friendly versions of local dishes. What I found interesting is how the water level affects the whole experience depending on when you visit. During monsoon season, the lake is full and dramatic, but I’ve heard from locals that in peak summer months it can look quite different. The resort organizes boat trips to the mainland Jaisamand Palace ruins, which is worth doing if you’re into history – just factor in about half a day for the whole excursion.
Look, the 7.6 rating makes sense when you consider this isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. If you need constant connectivity, shopping nearby, or tons of nightlife options, you’ll probably feel isolated. But if you’re looking for that rare combination of luxury and genuine escape – where you can actually disconnect and the only sounds at night are water lapping against the shore – this place delivers something most hotels simply can’t. Just pack any specific toiletries or medications you need, because the nearest pharmacy is a boat ride and drive away.

The staff was very friendly. the property is on island and the major part of the island is trekking trails. There're no restrictions for guests and they can roam around anywhere and find their peaceful spots. A must visit in monsoon season, just be careful of insects. P.s. The bar is amazing.

The place is exotic but pricey. Ofcourse, no match near by. Free boating , camel ride( but now I guess Camel person indirectly asks for money??). Location is really good...staff are nice.
