ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection
ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection Overview
First Impressions
Honestly, when I first pulled up to ADERO Scottsdale Resort, Autograph Collection, I wasn’t quite prepared for how seamlessly it blends into the Sonoran Desert landscape. This four-star property sits on Eagle Ridge Drive in North Scottsdale, and you know what struck me immediately? The way the architecture seems to emerge from the desert itself — all warm stone and clean lines that don’t fight with the surrounding mountains. There’s parking right on-site, which might sound mundane, but trust me, in this part of Arizona where everything’s spread out, it’s actually a relief not to worry about where to leave your car.
The Desert Setting
What really sets this place apart is its location in the high Sonoran Desert — I mean, you’re genuinely surrounded by untouched wilderness here. The resort sits at a higher elevation than central Scottsdale, so the air feels cleaner and the views stretch for miles across saguaro-dotted hills. Couples seem to get this immediately (apparently they rate the location 9.5 out of 10), and I can see why. There’s something about being this removed from the city buzz while still having easy access to everything Scottsdale offers. You’ll find golf courses within a couple miles, but honestly, the hiking trails that start practically from the resort’s back door are what kept drawing me outside.
The Room Experience
My room faced the desert, and I spent way too much time just standing on the balcony watching the light change on the mountains. The interiors feel contemporary but warm — lots of natural materials and earth tones that echo the landscape outside. What I appreciated was how they didn’t go overboard with the whole “desert theme” thing. Instead, it’s subtle and sophisticated, with floor-to-ceiling windows that make the outdoor views feel like living artwork. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with deep soaking tubs that are perfect after a day exploring the trails.
Activities and Amenities
The fitness center is better equipped than I expected — actually, it’s one of the nicest hotel gyms I’ve used, with equipment that looks out over the desert. There’s a tennis court if that’s your thing, though I found myself more drawn to the spa treatments that incorporate local ingredients like prickly pear and desert sage. The pool area deserves special mention too — it’s designed with multiple levels that follow the natural slope of the land, creating these intimate spaces where you can find your own quiet corner. The restaurant focuses on Southwestern cuisine with a modern twist, and their patio dining at sunset is something you shouldn’t miss.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place where you’re constantly entertained by resort activities — and that’s exactly the point. People come here to disconnect and recharge, to experience the desert in a way that feels both authentic and comfortable. The staff seems to understand this balance perfectly, providing attentive service without being intrusive. Recent guests consistently rate the location highly (9.3 out of 10), and after spending time here, I get why. It’s that rare combination of feeling completely removed from everything while still having access to excellent amenities and genuine comfort.
Premium healing resorts offer comprehensive wellness programs featuring spa therapies, meditation retreats, and holistic treatments designed to promote deep relaxation and personal renewal.

Beautiful location, great views, high end amenities, including a large gym and two heated pools overlooking the mountain view. The location is far from the city (30 mins) but close to many hiking trails. The spa was also nice for unwinding with a good massage.

Originally, our room were located on the 1st floor. We weren't happy with the room because of problems in that room. The front desk staff was kind enough to allow us to move to another different room, on 2nd floor. The property area has several different hiking trails. We only went on one trail - the Ridgeline Hiking trail which is about 4 miles. ...
