HOTEL OVERVIEW

You know what hit me first walking into the Borgata? It actually feels like Vegas decided to vacation in Jersey – and I mean that in the best way possible. This place sits right in the Marina District, which honestly is the sweet spot if you’re doing Atlantic City. You’re far enough from the Boardwalk chaos but close enough that it’s a quick ride if you want to hit Steel Pier or grab saltwater taffy.

The casino floor is massive – I’m talking sprawling in a way that makes you forget what time it is (which is probably the point). But here’s the thing that surprised me: the hotel part doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The rooms are actually spacious, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you either city views or – if you’re lucky – water views toward Brigantine. The beds are solid, none of that rock-hard hotel mattress nonsense, and the bathrooms have that deep soaking tub situation that’s perfect after a long day walking around. Fair warning though – weekend nights can get pretty lively, especially during summer when everyone’s escaping the heat of Philly and New York.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve managed to feel upscale without being stuffy. The spa is legit – not just some tiny room with a massage table, but an actual destination where locals come even when they’re not staying overnight. The restaurants range from grab-and-go to seriously impressive (Bobby Flay has a place here that’s worth the splurge). Parking is free, which honestly might be the most underrated perk in Atlantic City. And here’s a local tip: if you’re driving down from North Jersey, take the Parkway to Route 30 instead of fighting the Expressway traffic – you’ll thank me later. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing, from the front desk to housekeeping, which isn’t always a given in this town. I mean, it’s not perfect – the elevators can be slow during peak times, and good luck getting a dinner reservation anywhere decent without planning ahead. But for what you get, especially compared to some of the tired properties along the Boardwalk, the Borgata feels like Atlantic City finally figured out how to compete with the bigger gaming destinations.

Have not been here for a while, the food court has a little store selling yogurt and others. That is a plus!!! And of course the elegant looking of the borgata stands out compared to other places.
