You know what struck me first about Hotel Enjoy Pucón? It’s actually right in the thick of things on Clemente Holzapfel – which sounds fancy but it’s basically the main drag where all the action happens. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the lake and maybe five minutes from those little artisan shops that sell overpriced empanadas (but honestly, they’re worth it). The building itself has this sort of modern mountain lodge vibe going on, all clean lines and big windows that actually make sense when you see the Villarrica volcano looming right there in the background. Check-in was surprisingly smooth for a busy weekend in January – though I’d definitely recommend getting there before the afternoon rush when all the Santiago families arrive.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve nailed that balance between feeling upscale without being stuffy. The rooms are legitimately spacious, and I’m not just saying that because I’m used to cramped European hotels. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many five-star places mess this up), and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that don’t make you feel like you’re being attacked by a garden sprinkler. But here’s the thing – the real gem is the spa area. After spending a day hiking around Huerquehue or getting your bones rattled on the volcano tour, those thermal pools hit different. The water’s got this perfect temperature, and there’s something almost magical about soaking there while looking out at the lake, especially around sunset when the whole place turns golden.

Now, I’ll be honest – it’s not perfect. The restaurant can get absolutely slammed during peak season, and sometimes the service feels a bit stretched thin. Also, if you’re expecting that ultra-quiet luxury resort experience, this might not be your spot. Pucón itself gets pretty lively, especially in summer, and you’ll hear some street noise even on the higher floors. But that’s actually part of what I loved about it – you’re staying somewhere that feels connected to the town, not isolated from it. The staff genuinely knows the area too, which is huge. When I asked about the best spot to catch the sunrise over the lake (it’s from the pier near the casino, by the way), the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – he drew me a little route and told me exactly where to grab coffee afterward. For what you’re paying, especially compared to some of the more remote lodges around the region, Hotel Enjoy Pucón delivers on that promise of comfort and location. Just don’t expect to have the place to yourself if you’re visiting between December and March.
