Oiso Prince Hotel Overview
You know what struck me first about the Oiso Prince Hotel? It’s actually perched right on this bluff overlooking Sagami Bay, and I mean right on it – like you can practically hear the waves from your room. I’ve stayed at a bunch of places along this stretch of Kanagawa coast, but this one gets the location thing absolutely right. It’s about an hour south of Tokyo by train (take the Tokaido line to Oiso station, then grab a taxi), which honestly makes it feel like you’ve escaped to a different world entirely.
The hotel itself has that classic Prince Hotels vibe – sort of understated luxury without being stuffy about it. The lobby’s got these huge windows facing the ocean, and there’s something really satisfying about checking in while watching surfers down at the beach. Speaking of which, Oiso Beach is literally a five-minute walk away, and it’s one of the better swimming spots in the area if you’re visiting in summer. The rooms are… well, they’re solid. Not going to blow your mind with cutting-edge design, but they’re spacious by Japanese standards and most have ocean views. I actually preferred the slightly older rooms on the lower floors – better balconies, honestly, and you’re closer to that sound of the waves I mentioned.
What really sets this place apart though is how it feels connected to the area rather than just dropped onto it. The staff knows their stuff about local hiking trails (there are some gorgeous ones heading up into the hills behind town), and they’ll point you toward the good ramen spots on Kokufu Hongo street without you having to ask twice. The hotel’s restaurant is decent – nothing revolutionary, but they do this kaiseki dinner that uses a lot of local seafood, and the breakfast buffet actually has some regional specialties mixed in with the usual international options. Parking’s free, which is clutch if you’re driving down from Tokyo, and the lot’s bigger than you’d expect. Only minor complaint? The onsen (hot spring bath) gets pretty crowded on weekends, especially during cherry blossom season when everyone and their cousin seems to descend on this part of the coast. But honestly, even with crowds, soaking in those outdoor baths while looking out at the Pacific – I mean, that’s the kind of thing you remember years later. It’s the sort of place that works whether you’re trying to impress someone on a romantic getaway or just need to decompress somewhere that doesn’t feel like every other hotel.

The infinity pool and spa were awesome.
What could be improved: That we had to pay extra for the water park, for the infinity pool area, and even for coming earlier to the pool on the check-in day - felt like a rip-off.
all the plan especially Spa
What could be improved: next to ocean
The hotel and spa facilities are excellent, and because we came by car the location was perfect for going up and down the coast. What could be improved: We went in the off-season and Oiso Long Beach was closed for maintenance. There was also...
Super comfy and well appointed
What could be improved: They charge a ridiculously high price to use the pools. It wouldn’t be a good location if you didn’t have your own transport.
The spa is very relaxing. If you want to unwind, their spa gives you exactly that.
What could be improved: For afternoon tea, you can’t just walk in. You need to reserve a day in advance.
Infinity pool and spa

The specious Onsen included as a hotel facility make everyone so happy to relax after the long day. With the Onsen provided, the quality / price is good. Without Onsen, it can be too pricy. The room is quite big and clean. What could be improved: I...
