Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Pramod Convention & Club Resort on the Mahanadi Ring Road, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? This spot actually surprised me in ways that matter when you’re traveling.

The thing about Chahata Nagar is that it’s far enough from Cuttack’s chaotic center to feel peaceful, but close enough that you’re not stranded if you need to grab something or explore. The resort sits on this decent chunk of land – I mean, it’s not sprawling, but there’s breathing room, which is honestly rare around here. What caught my attention first was how quiet it gets in the evenings. You can actually hear birds instead of constant traffic, which… well, if you’ve been to other parts of Odisha, you know that’s not guaranteed. The check-in was pretty smooth, though the lobby has that slightly dated feel you’d expect – not shabby, just not trying too hard to be something it’s not.

Here’s where it gets interesting though – the convention part isn’t just for show. I stayed during a wedding season (which, let’s face it, is basically always in India), and watching how they handled multiple events without everything falling apart was actually impressive. The staff seem to know what they’re doing, even when things get hectic. The rooms are clean and comfortable enough – nothing fancy, but the AC works properly and the beds are firm without being rock-hard. I particularly liked that the windows actually open, so you can get some fresh air if you want it. The club facilities are decent too – there’s a pool that’s well-maintained, and honestly, after spending a day dealing with Cuttack’s heat and humidity, that pool becomes your best friend. Food-wise, they do solid North Indian and local Odia dishes. Their dalma is actually pretty good, and I’m picky about that stuff.

What I really appreciated was the parking situation – sounds boring, but trust me, it matters. Plenty of space, and it’s secure, which means you’re not worried about your car while you’re trying to relax. The location on the ring road means you can get to the main city when you need to, but you’re not dealing with that constant urban noise. During my stay, I noticed they get a mix of business travelers and families, which usually means a place is doing something right for different types of people. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. If you’re looking for something reliable in the Cuttack area without paying resort prices, and you want a place that feels more like a retreat than just another hotel room, this could work for you. Just don’t expect ultra-modern everything – but honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
