Right across from the Saras Dairy on Ranthambhore Road (which, honestly, makes it super easy to find when your taxi driver inevitably gets a bit lost), this place has that perfect blend of jungle lodge charm and actual luxury that’s surprisingly hard to nail in this part of Rajasthan.
The first thing that hits you is how quiet it gets at dusk – I mean, you’re literally on the edge of tiger country here, so there’s this incredible shift when the day sounds fade and you start hearing the forest wake up. The rooms are spacious in that way that makes you wonder why every hotel doesn’t do this, with these gorgeous traditional touches that don’t feel forced or touristy. You know what I loved? The staff actually knows the tiger movement patterns and will casually mention over breakfast which zones have been active lately. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake.
The pool area becomes this perfect gathering spot in the late afternoon when it’s too hot to do much else – you’ll find yourself swapping safari stories with other guests while the peacocks (and there are loads of them) strut around like they own the place. Which, let’s face it, they kind of do. The restaurant serves solid Rajasthani food, though I’d recommend trying their dal – it’s honestly better than what I had at some of the fancier places in Jaipur. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me because while everything works well and the location is genuinely unbeatable for park access, it’s not trying to be the Ritz. Some of the room furnishings show a bit of wear, and the WiFi can be spotty (though honestly, that might be a blessing when you’re here to disconnect anyway). But here’s the thing – when you’re this close to one of India’s best tiger reserves, with staff who actually care about your safari experience and rooms that let you hear the jungle at night, those little details matter way less than they would anywhere else. If you’re serious about seeing tigers and want to stay somewhere that feels connected to the wilderness rather than sealed off from it, this is your spot.
