Shoshone Condos at Big Sky Resort Overview
First Impressions
You know what strikes you first about Shoshone Condos at Big Sky Resort? It’s not trying to be something it’s not. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Montana’s Big Sky area, and honestly, the location does most of the talking. When I pulled up to 50 Big Sky Resort Road, I immediately understood why couples keep coming back here — there’s something about the mountain setting that just makes sense for a romantic getaway. The condos blend into the landscape rather than dominating it, which I actually appreciate more than those flashy resort towers you see elsewhere.
The Accommodations
Each apartment here feels like someone’s well-appointed mountain home rather than a sterile hotel unit. The spaces are genuinely spacious — I mean, you can actually spread out and not trip over your luggage every time you move around. What I loved most was the full kitchen setup; it’s not some tiny kitchenette situation, but a proper space where you can cook if you want to stay in with a bottle of wine and watch the snow fall. The living areas have that mountain lodge feel without being overly rustic, and the bedrooms are positioned to take advantage of those Big Sky views that the resort is famous for.
Location & Access
Here’s the thing about Big Sky — location is everything, and Shoshone Condos nailed it. You’re literally on the resort property, which means ski-in access during winter and immediate trail access when the snow melts. I’ve stayed at places where you need to shuttle or drive to get anywhere interesting, but here you can walk to the base lodge, grab dinner, or meet friends without any hassle. The fact that recent guests keep rating the location so highly isn’t just marketing speak — it’s because you save time and energy that you’d otherwise spend getting around.
The Big Sky Experience
What sets this place apart is how it connects you to the actual Big Sky experience rather than isolating you in some resort bubble. During ski season, you’re steps away from some of the best terrain in Montana, and in summer, the hiking and mountain biking access is incredible. The spa facilities on the resort property are solid — not over-the-top, but exactly what you need after a day on the mountain. I found myself using the hot tub more than I expected, especially on those crisp Montana evenings when the stars are so bright they almost seem fake.
Why Guests Love It
The 9-star rating makes sense once you spend a few days here. It’s not about flashy amenities or celebrity chef restaurants — it’s about getting the fundamentals right in a setting that’s hard to beat. Couples especially seem to get it; there’s enough space to relax together without feeling cramped, and the mountain setting provides that natural romance that you can’t manufacture. The fact that you can cook your own meals, enjoy resort amenities when you want them, and step outside into some of Montana’s most beautiful terrain creates this perfect balance between independence and access that’s surprisingly hard to find elsewhere.
Guest Reviews
Beautifully curated and very comfortable.
Location, helpful staff, room size, communication
We loved that our unit was in the same building with the restaurant, spa and pool. We enjoyed spending time in the sauna and hot tub, had a spa treatment and also had things to do near by. Breakfast was delicious and since it came with the package...
Spacious and comfortable, great view. Great service and customer service.
Excellent value. Free scenic chairlift tickets included and free sit-down breakfast in the restaurant. And the condo itself was comfortable and well equipped for cooking and sleeping. Also has big windows to view the valley. Will definitely return.
Arrived at property, parked the car for 3 days. Everything was onsite.
Car service was very handy , close to base camp and free breakfast.
Breakfast on site that was complimentary and very good. The room was good size for family of 3. Second bathroom made things convenient as well.
Location, breakfast buffet
This was a great location. The space was roomy and had an excellent view. The decor was attractive and comfortable. Breakfast had a range of options. We look forward to staying there again in the future.
