Spruce Point Inn Resort and Spa Overview
First Impressions
When you first pull into Spruce Point Inn Resort and Spa, honestly, the setting takes your breath away. This four-star property sits on 57 acres of pristine Maine coastline in Boothbay Harbor, and I mean — the views across Linekin Bay are something you’ll remember long after checkout. The main lodge has that classic New England charm without feeling stuffy, and there’s parking right on site, which is actually a bigger deal than you might think in this part of coastal Maine.
The Accommodations
The room options here range from traditional lodge accommodations to private cottages scattered throughout the property, and each one feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate. I stayed in one of the oceanfront cottages — the kind of place where you can hear the waves from your bed and watch lobster boats heading out at dawn. The interiors strike that perfect balance between rustic Maine character and modern comfort, with locally sourced artwork and furnishings that actually make sense for the setting.
Dining and Wellness
The main restaurant focuses on fresh, local seafood (as it should in Maine), but what surprised me was how well they handle non-seafood dishes too. The spa treatments incorporate seaweed and sea salt in ways that feel authentic rather than gimmicky — you know what I mean, like they actually understand the coastal environment they’re working with. After a massage, you can walk directly down to their private beach, which honestly feels like having your own slice of the Maine coast.
Activities and Location
The tennis court gets plenty of use during summer months, and there’s a golf course just a couple miles away if that’s your thing. But really, the fishing opportunities are what set this place apart — whether you want to try your hand at lobstering or just cast a line from the dock. Boothbay Harbor itself is walkable from the resort, though you’ll want to drive the short distance into town for the full experience of galleries, shops, and that famous footbridge everyone photographs.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back here — and I’ve met several repeat visitors during my stays — is how the property manages to feel both secluded and accessible. You’re tucked away on this beautiful peninsula, but downtown Boothbay Harbor is right there when you want restaurants, boat tours, or just to people-watch by the harbor. Couples especially seem drawn to the place, probably because there’s something inherently romantic about watching the sunset over Linekin Bay from your private deck. It’s the kind of spot where you can actually disconnect without feeling like you’re roughing it, and in today’s world, that balance is harder to find than you might think.

The grounds are gorgeous and maintained beautifully.
We had a beautiful, spacious room, with a small over for the night when it was already turning cold. The restaurant was fine, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner there. Once, they helped us out even thought the restaurant was already closed! To walk down...
We loved the quietness of it, the size of the room and the beauty of the property. Also the location was so close to all the shopping and restaurants! Our favorite thing was the complimentary harbor boat tour!

It was a property that is so rich in tradition. I could see the families enjoying this resort in the 50’s and now. Such a unique experience. We loved the grounds, pool, restaurants and everything about it.
Loved the resort and all it offers. The room was cozy and clean.
The location & amenities. We loved kayaking and the pool on harbor edge.
