The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa – Asheville Overview
First Impressions
You know what hits you first at The Omni Grove Park Inn & Spa – Asheville? It’s not just the massive stone facade — though that’s impressive enough — it’s the way this place feels like it’s been carved right out of the Blue Ridge Mountains themselves. I mean, when you pull up that winding drive and see this four-star resort sprawling across the hillside, you get why couples rate the location so highly. The whole property has this timeless, almost castle-like presence that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special in Asheville.
The Setting
Honestly, the location is everything here — perched on the slopes overlooking downtown Asheville with the Blue Ridge Mountains as your backdrop. What I love is how you’re close enough to walk into the city’s buzzing arts district and brewery scene, but far enough up the mountain to feel completely removed from it all. The spa actually takes advantage of these views too, with treatment rooms that look out over the valley. You’ll find yourself just sitting on the terrace with a drink, watching the mist roll through those ancient peaks.
Accommodations That Deliver
The rooms here really live up to their reputation for comfort — and I can see why guests rave about the beds. Each room feels substantial, with that classic mountain lodge aesthetic but updated with modern touches that actually work. The stone fireplaces aren’t just for show either; on cool mountain evenings, there’s something deeply satisfying about having a real fire crackling while you unwind. The bathrooms are generous, and honestly, after a day of hiking or exploring Asheville’s galleries, that deep soaking tub becomes your best friend.
Dining and Amenities
Breakfast here is actually quite thoughtful — they’ve got the usual American fare, but what impressed me was how well they handle dietary restrictions. The buffet includes solid vegetarian and vegan options, plus gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The main restaurant takes advantage of local ingredients, which makes sense given how much great produce comes out of these mountains. There’s parking right on site, which is a relief since some Asheville hotels make you hunt for street spots. The golf course within a couple miles is decent if that’s your thing, and the fitness center has everything you need to work off those craft beer tastings downtown.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back is how this place manages to feel both grand and genuinely relaxing. It’s not trying to be the flashiest resort in the mountains — instead, it’s perfected this balance between historic charm and modern comfort that just works. The staff seems to understand that people come here to decompress, whether that’s couples looking for a romantic mountain getaway or families wanting a base for exploring the area. You’re getting that classic American resort experience, but with enough character and natural beauty that it never feels generic or cookie-cutter.

everything
Location, friendly efficient staff, facilities, and excellent restaurants.
Beautiful & historic… visited several times & Christmas is favorite…due to the disaster, effort on recovery limited the gingerbread at the inn, but allowed Asheville businesses to showcase them… we spent a day also at Biltmore and some of the family...
