The rooms face the river (hence the name), and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the upper floor spots, the view is honestly spectacular. There’s this moment around sunset when the light hits the water and you can sometimes catch elephants coming down to drink… well, that’s when you remember why you came to Corbett in the first place, not just for another hotel stay.

The staff here actually knows the area – like, really knows it. They’ll tell you the best times for safari bookings (early morning slots fill up fast, especially during peak season), and they’re honest about which zones are most active. What I appreciated was how they handle the whole national park proximity thing. You’re close enough that you can easily make those 6 AM safari calls, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. Parking’s straightforward, check-in was smooth, and the restaurant… okay, the food’s better than it has any right to be for a place this far from major cities. They do this local fish preparation that’s worth asking about. The only minor thing – and I’m being picky here – is that the Wi-Fi can get spotty during heavy rain, but honestly, if you’re checking emails while you’re in tiger country, you’re probably missing the point anyway.
