Location & Neighborhood

The location on North Scottsdale Road is actually brilliant — you’re close enough to Old Town Scottsdale’s galleries and nightlife (about 10 minutes), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend party crowds. What I love is that you can walk to some excellent local spots that tourists often miss, like the little art studios tucked into the nearby neighborhoods. The resort sits right in the cultural corridor, so you’ve got easy access to the Musical Instrument Museum and some fantastic hiking trails in the McDowell Mountains. Couples especially seem to appreciate how peaceful this area feels — there’s something romantic about those desert sunsets from here.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was one of their casitas, and it felt like having your own little desert hideaway. The tile floors stay cool even in summer, and the private patios are where you’ll want to spend your mornings with coffee. The furnishings lean southwestern without going full-on cliché — think warm woods and earth tones rather than turquoise overload. What really impressed me was the attention to comfort details: blackout curtains that actually work, a bathroom with good water pressure, and enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.
