Beautiful historic resort with many updates. In the much quieter winter season it is a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Amenities are a bit limited this season and not a lot in the area open but the hot tub and outdoor saunas on site are wonderful and the pub food was good. Real fast was wonderful! Take advantage of snowshoeing and walking to really appreciate it all. Staff were very friendly.

What could be improved: Nothing we didn’t like but the experience would be enhanced with a few more activities (wine/scotch/gin tasting, cooking demos, east coast kitchen party) and if the main dining room was open. Maybe in future with more guests in off season this will occur. And we were there mid week so that could be part of it.

Pretty much everything.

What could be improved: Staff although generally helpful, both at front desk and at pub, were a little standoffish

Kellina from Canada (4 January 2025)

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Restaurant amazing (though expensive). Beds very comfortable. Outdoor hot tub borderline magical.

What could be improved: Two of the saunas were broken so hard to find a spot. Also someone got sick outside one of the saunas and it sat there a long time without being cleaned up. That's about it.

Routine buffet and tast

What could be improved: 3 days of rain- BUT sunny friendly hospitality indoors

Activities at the resort where great! We liked barrel sauna and the pool.

Clean well appointed rooms. Public areas clean and offer great lake views. Staff pleasant and helpful. Pool was warm, hot tub perfect even with 12c temperatures during day.

What could be improved: Heavy duvet bedding but blanket in closet made bed comfortable.
