HOTEL OVERVIEW
Honestly, I’ve stayed at a lot of Miami Beach hotels, and Acqualina just hits different. The moment you pull up to 17875 Collins Avenue – which is right in that sweet spot of Sunny Isles Beach where the crowds thin out but you’re still close to everything – you know you’re somewhere special. The valet actually smiles (revolutionary concept in Miami, I know), and the lobby has this airy, Mediterranean vibe that doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to make a massive resort feel intimate. I mean, we’re talking about a place with multiple pools, but somehow you never feel like you’re fighting for space. The main pool deck faces the ocean, and here’s the thing nobody tells you – the beach here is legitimately gorgeous. Not that packed, sometimes-sketchy South Beach sand, but actual pristine coastline where you can hear yourself think. The service is where they really shine though. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived (early, admittedly), but instead of the usual “sorry, come back later” routine, they offered us day passes to the spa. The spa, by the way, is ridiculous – I’m talking treatments that cost more than some people’s rent, but honestly worth every penny if you’re doing the whole celebration thing.
The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a 9.2-rated property, but with thoughtful touches that show someone actually stayed in these spaces before signing off on them. The balcony views are insane – you’re high enough to see the coastline stretch toward Aventura but not so high that you feel disconnected from the beach below. Location-wise, you’re about 15 minutes north of the madness of Collins Avenue’s main strip, which means you can easily Uber down to hit Lincoln Road or wherever, but you come home to something that actually feels like a retreat. The restaurants on-site are solid (though Miami being Miami, you’ll pay Miami prices), and there’s something to be said for not having to leave the property if you don’t want to. Fair warning though – if you’re coming during Art Basel or any major Miami event, book way in advance and prepare for the rates to reflect the demand. But for a special occasion or when you just want to remember why people move to South Florida in the first place, Acqualina delivers on pretty much everything it promises.

Amazing very professional check in experience 5 star service from receptionist Valaria! The welcome drink and room upgrade was a special touch and very much appreciated! Lovely beach and chairs service. We had a delicious lunch at the beach front restaurant and a fantastic dinner at the Italian restaurant. Both catered well to kids.
