You know what struck me first about Beleza By The Beach? The name actually makes sense – it’s not just some marketing nonsense. When you’re standing on their property looking out at Colva Beach, you really do get why they went with “beauty by the beach.” The hotel sits right in Thondvaddo, which honestly is the quieter end of Colva, away from the main tourist chaos near the bus stand area.

I’ve stayed at plenty of five-star places that feel stuffy and disconnected from where they actually are, but Beleza gets the balance right. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe without feeling like you could be anywhere in the world – you can actually hear the waves from most of them, especially at night when the beach vendors pack up and things get peaceful. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well too, which matters more than you’d think. When I asked about getting to the Saturday Night Market in Arpora, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a pamphlet – he actually explained the taxi situation and mentioned which drivers he’d recommend. Small thing, but it shows they’re plugged into the local scene.

What really works about this place is the location within Colva itself. You’re close enough to walk to Mickey’s Restaurant or hit up the beach shacks for fresh kingfish, but far enough from the main Colva Beach Road that you’re not dealing with constant honking and tour groups at 7 AM. The hotel’s beach access is solid – no rocky patches or weird drop-offs, just clean sand that actually gets maintained. I mean, it’s still Goa, so you’ll have the occasional vendor wandering by trying to sell you sarongs, but it’s not overwhelming like some stretches of Baga or Calangute. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families start filtering down, but early morning and late afternoon it’s pretty serene. Only real downside I noticed was that the WiFi gets spotty during peak hours – not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing if you’re trying to work remotely. The restaurant food is actually quite good, though I’d still recommend wandering into Colva village for dinner at least once – there’s this little Konkani place called Sagar Kinara that locals go to, about a ten-minute walk inland. But honestly, for a five-star property in South Goa, Beleza delivers on what most people are actually looking for: a clean, comfortable base that doesn’t feel disconnected from the whole reason you came to Goa in the first place.
